See the Sahara Desert over 4 days
This exciting tour takes you from the vibrant city of Marrakech into the heart of the High Atlas Mountains and the edge of the Sahara Desert, offering a mixture of natural beauty, history, and cultural experiences.
On your first day, your journey begins with a transfer from Marrakech over the scenic Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, which sits at 2,260 meters altitude. Along the way, you’ll visit the historic Kasbah Telouet, a former seat of power with fascinating architecture. Next, you’ll explore the iconic Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its striking earthen buildings and role as a backdrop in many films. After this we’ll head to Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Sahara,” where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel or riad, ready to rest before the desert adventures ahead.
The next day takes you deeper into Morocco’s dramatic landscapes. After breakfast, the tour heads to the stunning Dades Gorges, known as the “Valley of the Roses,” with its winding river and breathtaking views. The journey continues to the Todgha Gorges, famous for its towering cliffs and popularity among rock climbers. From here, you’ll travel to the desert village of Merzouga. Upon arrival, enjoy traditional mint tea and a rest before riding camels into the Sahara dunes to watch for a magical sunset. The night is spent in a traditional nomad’s tent under the stars, complete with dinner.
On day 3, you’ll rise early to experience the desert sunrise before returning to Merzouga. After freshening up, the tour continues via Rissani and Erfoud to visit workshops crafting fossilized marble objects, a unique aspect of local artisan culture. Finally, you return to Marrakech for your last night in the city.
The last day is free for you to enjoy Marrakech at your leisure before your departure. This Morocco tour offers a perfect balance of adventure, culture, and natural wonders for an unforgettable experience.
