This Atlas Mountains mountain bike tour is really for the experienced mountain biker. You should be able to ride single-track very well to consider taking on this adventure. If you’d like to know more, contact us for more details.
Throughout our tour, we will be riding some amazing trails and we will include great food, hospitality and a true Mountain Bike/biking in Morocco experience that you will never forget. Big mountains, big single-track, great food, amazing culture!
Bike, pads and tyres
Pads
These are not compulsory but are certainly recommended for biking in Morocco.
Tyres
We recommend tubeless tyres in Morocco and also the Maxxis High Roller II 2.35 or High Roller LUST 2.35. The terrain is rocky and can be quite technical.
Bike
We recommend a 140mm+ full suspension bike (All Mountain Bike). However, you can use most types of bike. All wheel sizes are welcome, from 26″ to 29″. If you bring anything other than a 26″ wheel please make sure you bring enough inner tubes and a spare tyre. The only place we can get more is in Marrakech which will take a day to get there and back. Even then, we can’t guarantee we can get what you want.
How To Get There And Get Back
We will pick you up from Marrakech city (many riads are not accessible by car, so the driver may have to park nearby to get you) and when you finish, we will drop you off at the nearest point to your hotel or riad.
NB: We aim to do one transfer from the airport to Imlil. However, we are aware that not everyone can arrive at the same time so if your arrival time is very different from the rest of the group we offer a subsidised additional transfer option to Imlil for £20.
Food On The Trek
Atlas mountain tour meals are cooked by the Berber muleteer and the food is fresh and healthy. For example breakfast might be jam, bread and butter, cookies, fruit, juice and coffee or milk.
Lunch may be salad with tomatoes, carrots, lentils, beans, rice or pasta. Sometimes we have fish (sardines, tuna) and seasonal fruit.
Your dinner could be soup, cous-cous, Moroccan tagine, olives and could include nuts and fruit.
Can my dietary requirements be catered for?
Absolutely. Just let us know about your catering preferences when you confirm your booking to ensure that any dietary requirements are met.
Please remind your guide and cook about your dietary requirements on the first day of the trek.
We look forward to seeing you here!
