This is an 8 day winter trek to the top of Mount Toubkal (known as Jebel Toubkal in Morocco), the highest peak in North Africa.
This is a trek for climbers who like to explore during the winter months and who are confident in the ice and snow. In the winter, the views from Mount Toubkal are much clearer than in the summer months so you’ll get to see as far as Marrakech when you reach the top!
Join the View Morocco team for an attempt on Jebel Toubkal’s summit!
How To Get There And Get Back
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech city. Lots of riads do not have car access so the driver will park nearby and come to get you.
On your final day, you will be dropped off at the nearest point to your riad or hotel and our driver can call your riad to meet you if needed.
Food On The Trek
Atlas Mountain tour meals are cooked by the Berber guides and muleteers and the food is fresh and healthy. For example breakfast might be jam, bread and butter, cookies, fruit, juice and coffee or milk.
Lunch may be salad with tomatoes, carrots, lentils, beans, rice or pasta. Sometimes we have fish (sardines, tuna) and seasonal fruit.
Your dinner could be soup, classic Moroccan tagine, couscous, olives and may include nuts and fruit.
Can my dietary requirements be catered for?
Absolutely. Just let us know about your catering preferences when you confirm your booking to ensure that any dietary requirements are met.
Please remind your guide and cook about your dietary requirements on the first day of the trek.
The famous Mount Toubkal is even more impressive in the winter months!
Overview
Starting in Marrakech, we’ll trek to Imlil, the Mizane Valley and the shrine at Sidi Chamarouch. From there we’ll hike to Toubkal Base Camp where we can attempt the summit and afterward perhaps we can climb Jebel Ouanoukrim, or another neighbouring peak.
Our Atlas Mountain tour finishes when we return to Marrakech for a day that you can spend as you see fit.
