Trekking In Morocco: Trek the 3 Valleys

3 Days

We are pleased to offer you 3 days of family-oriented trekking in Morocco. This tour is about getting to know Berber culture a little better and the focus is on the stunning countryside and being around the people who work and live there.

Join the View Morocco tour guides for 3 days of Berber culture and beautiful panoramic views.

How To Get There And Get Back

You will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech city. Lots of riads do not have car access so the driver will park nearby and come to get you.

On your final day, you will be dropped off at the nearest point to your riad or hotel and our driver can call your riad to meet you if needed.

Food On The Trek

Meals during our Atlas Mountain tours are cooked by the Berber guides and muleteers and the food is fresh and healthy. For example breakfast might be jam, bread and butter, cookies, fruit, juice and coffee or milk.

Lunch may be salad with tomatoes, carrots, lentils, beans, rice or pasta. Sometimes we have fish (sardines, tuna) and seasonal fruit.

Your dinner could be soup, classic Moroccan tagine, couscous, olives and may include nuts and fruit.

Can my dietary requirements be catered for?

Absolutely. Just let us know about your catering preferences when you confirm your booking to ensure that any dietary requirements are met.

Please remind your guide and cook about your dietary requirements on the first day of the trek.

The famous Mount Toubkal is even more impressive in the winter months!

  • Azzadene Valley -> Tizi Mzik -> Imlil -> Marrakech

Itinerary

When we get to Imlil, you'll meet your View Morocco trekking team including mules, muleteers and qualified guides.

We'll set off for about 4 hours of trekking and head toward Tinerhourhine in the lovely Imenane valley via Tizi n’Tamatert at 2279m.

As we go, we'll hike through the village of Tamatert and eventually stop for a scenic lunch at the top of the pass which gives us a breathtaking view of the High Atlas.

We'll journey on to the picturesque Ouanesekra-Tamguist. Later we'll arrive at Tinerhourhine at 1600m.

We'll spend the night at Tinerhourhine in a local gite.

Today, we will be heading to the stunning Azzeden valley. A 6 or 7 hour trek will take us through the Imenane to reach the ancient Berber village of Ikkis at 1700m.

After Ikkis, we'll hike to Tizi n’Aguersioual Mountain pass all the way up at 2000m.

We'll take our lunch at the village of Matate and trek a further 2 hours to arrive at the village of Aït Aïssa at 1800m.

Alternatively, we can stay overnight in the village of Tizi Oussem, where we can use the village hammam (a traditional Moroccan steam bath!).

Today will be your last day or trekking. It will be short and will probably only be around 4 hours in total.

After your breakfast, we'll head over to the village of Tizi Oussem. From there we'll make our way over to the Tizi Mzik mountain pass at 2400m and descend to the village of Mzik where we can have lunch.

After lunch, we will hike back to Imlil and then transfer back to Marrakech.
