This is a really beautiful way to go trekking in Morocco and you’ll be introduced to some of the most stunning scenery that this country has to offer, making it one of the best trekking holidays in Morocco. From the Ouirgane National Park with its juniper trees growing in the lush green soil to the mountain streams surrounded by lush walnut groves leading up towards Toubkal and her sister peaks this is a fantastic introduction to the Moroccan countryside.

For two nights you’ll stay with the Berber people in the country that they have lived and worked on for centuries. And when you finish your Morocco trekking holidays, you’ll still have time to explore the exotic city of Marrakech in the evening.

How To Get There And Get Back

At the beginning of your Morocco trekking holidays, we will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech city (many riads are not accessible by car, so the driver may have to park nearby to get you) and when you finish, we will drop you off at the nearest point to your hotel or riad.

Food On The Trek

The best thing you can enjoy with our trekking holidays in Morocco is the meals on Atlas Mountains tour that are cooked by the Berber muleteer and the food is fresh and healthy. For example breakfast might be jam, bread and butter, cookies, fruit, juice and coffee or milk.

Lunch on our trekking holidays in Morocco be salad with tomatoes, carrots, lentils, beans, rice or pasta. Sometimes we have fish (sardines, tuna) and seasonal fruit.

Your dinner could be soup, cous-cous, Moroccan tagine, olives and could include nuts and fruit.

Overview

Depart from your accommodation in Marrakech, trek in the Ouirgane National Park, walk past the lush walnut groves leading up towards Toubkal and spend your nights with the local Berber people.

All acommodation is luxury acommodation.

Depart at 9.00am from your accommodation in Marrakech. There is a 1 hour and 30 minute drive to get to Imi Oughlad (1,450m) where you will leave your vehicle and where you will meet your Berber muleteer and guide.

Your first day will be an easy acclimatization trek in the Ouirgane National Park. The terrain here is gentle with copper green soil and beautiful juniper trees. You'll spend the night in an Eco Lodge in Ouirgane (its a comfortable guest house with en suite rooms and swimming pool in Marigha Village).

After breakfast you’ll head up and out of the valley and traverse over to the stunning Tassa Ouirgane Valley.

The views open up with a rushing mountain stream surrounded by lush walnut groves leading up towards Toubkal and her sister peaks at the head of the Valley.

You'll spend the night in a luxury Toubkal Lodge.

Today involves a fantastic climb out of the Azzadene Valley.

You'll head up the valley towards Tizi Oussem and from there you'll head up towards the pass at Tizi n Mzik (2489m) before descending down into Imlil.

After lunch in Imlil you'll be transferred back to Marrakech leaving plenty of time to explore the City in the evening.

Luggage

Personal baggage, cooking equipment and food are carried by the mules, leaving you to carry only a rucksack with whatever you need close at hand for the day.

NB : Left luggage or unnecessary luggage can be left safely in our storage in Imlil until you come back from the trek.
